The Middlebrooks side of the family got together on New Year's day to celebrate Christmas. This is the first time Matt and I have made it to a Christmas celebration as a married couple - I think it may have been 6 years since the last time I had been able to celebrate with them.
It was great to see my family, enjoy good food, and watch the kids go crazy in Xander's VERY fun play room.
Unfortunately, we ended up showing up to the party nearly an hour late. While I was making my appetizer I took off my wedding ring and band and threw it on the counter. They got moved over to the desk with my phone, but my engagement ring went missing. My parents and sisters and I literally took apart the kitchen searching for it. We went through the trash twice, moved out all appliances, and took the stove apart, still nothing. I was in shock, I had no idea where it could have gone and I was so sad. Matt wasn't there when it happened, so when I saw him at the party I was trying to avoid him. I knew he wouldn't be mad, but I didn't want to start crying - and I knew I would when he told me everything would be ok...I did. After the party, Matt and I went over to Michelle and Luke's house to hang out. I took off my boots and looked down at the floor. My ring had fallen into my boot and I saw it laying on the rug. PHEW
Look at all of those kids!!!
Savannah got a Jessie doll and hasn't put it down since - she is giving soft loves!
Merry Christmas/Happy New Year/Happy Birthday Xander!
