Oops!! Let's Not Forget the Brune Wedding!!

I posted a bunch about our time in Portland at the beginning of the month, but never got around to blogging about THE wedding! I took a million pictures, so I felt a little overwhelmed. Most of the pictures are posted on Facebook, so I don't think there's anything new here, but I didn't want to neglect one of the best weddings, EVER!
Kimberly and I stayed in a hotel downtown the night before the wedding. It was a blast having a calm sister night and hanging out. She worked on writing her vows and I worked on writing my speech. We finished some shopping, went to dinner, and then of course stopped for some candy to bring back to the hotel. I shouldn't mention I was asked if I was her mother...it still hurts too bad.

The next morning my mom came to the hotel and we walked over to Nordstom's to get our make-up done. Soon after we got back, the rest of the bridesmaid's came to the hotel as well and we started getting our pictures done.
Michelle brought her kiddos, and I am not joking when I say; they are the best behaved children - ever! I couldn't even imagine how miserable my kids would have been couped up in a hotel room and lugged around down town. That's why I hired a nanny for the day :) My friend Kristen was a SAINT and watched my girls all day, brought them to the church for pictures and the ceremony, took them home shortly after and got them to bed...phew. It must have been a long day for her!
Yeah, we crammed 10 bridesmaids, a bride, a bride's mother, two kids, and a photographer into her hotel room...it was cozy!
Getting ready!
Beautiful bride with her gorgeous brooch bouquet
Since I was in the wedding, and most people I steal my pictures from were also in the wedding, I didn't get any ceremony shots and actually didn't take too many pics before my girls were escorted off the church property.

I did get some cake shots - and they were not nice. Not nice at all to one another!
Christian was a champ being a chair for my little sis. And Oliver was NOT speedy at taking the garder off! His mother came up after a little lingering and sped things along!
Oliver and Kimberly made a time capsule to open in 25 years. They each included a letter to one another and a bottle of wine from the year of their marriage. I thought it was a beautiful idea. Melanie, Oliver's sister said it wasn't exactly a German tradition, but it has been a common practice the past several years.
Don't you just love the scruff? He shaves it off for work, but I always beg him to grow it out over long holidays and vacations
Dance Party, Dance, Dance Party!
Bye Bye Mr. and Mrs. Brune!
